Affiliate Advertising...
| | One way internet marketers seek to boost their income is affiliate
advertising. This kind of advertising is easy to get started. It's also free to become an affiliate.
Opening a free reseller account doesn't take long. Once your account is set up, place your ads in strategic places on your website.
Don't have a website? Don't worry about it. You can advertise any product you want using Google adwords and their checkout software is free for anyone without a site. Also, some of the best affiliate advertising promotions can be done on niche sites or in newsletters and ezines.
Revenue from affiliate advertising programs is earned when a
prospect
buys what is being promoted. Codes, called cookies, are embedded in the product links. A
cookie
is used to identify the visitor. Its how affiliate advertising networks know who to credit for a sale.

Ask yourself a couple of questions before you apply to any web affiliate programs.
1. What kinds of
products or services would benefit my customers?
Affiliate internet marketing tip: Apply to niche affiliate marketing programs that are an extension of what you already sell. If you sell pets, you might want to promote pet care products. If your business is cell phones, you could become a ringtone affiliate.
2. How many web affiliate programs do you want to join?
Affiliate businesses are all some people have. Affiliate selling is all they do. Their only income is affiliate revenue. Others seek to boost their incomes by applying to just a few affiliate offers. It differs from person to person. In the beginning it's probably best to join only a few. Then, once you've got the hang of it, join a few more if you want to. |
Remember, the major affiliate companies represent hundreds, if not thousands, of products. Take the time to do some research. Pick only products you can really stand behind. Buy the product yourself and take it for a test drive. Make sure it does what it's supposed to do. I pick the very cream of crop affiliate products using the information I got from a course I took called Commission Blueprint.
I only affiliate a handful of products, even though I have accounts at all the major companies. I get announcements via email about new products and I never know when one might have real benefits for my readers.
The point is to find the cream. Once your prospects see that you're honest about helping them, they will be more inclined to trust your recommendations. Being picky about what you promote leads to positive feedback about you and your site.
(NOTE: If you're an affiliate marketer who doesn't have a website, GOOGLE CHECKOUT is FREE when you use GOOGLE ADWORDS to advertise.)
Everyone's heard the wealthy affiliate stories about new cars, second homes, etc. That's because affiliate marketing success is achievable. It can push your revenue up if you take the time to do it well. Choose your affiliate advertising resources wisely. An affiliate advertising program isn't a partnership in the legal sense. But, the goal is for both parties to benefit. | |
