What is CPC?
CPC stand for "cost-per-click".
cpc-cost per click. Answers.com. Dictionary of Marketing Terms, Barron's Educational Series, Inc, 2000.
| | This term is part of the pay-per-click
toolbox.
In a pay-per-click campaign you bid on
keywords
. You could pay anywhere from ten cents to twenty-five dollars for a keyword, depending on how competitive your business is. Let's say you have a keyword set at twenty-five cents. Every time someone clicks on your ad, you get charged.
You won't always get charged the full bid price. A pay-per-click provider, like google adwords, will only charge you what it costs to get your ad into the highest position. So, if the advertiser below you has his/her cost-per-click set at twenty cents, you only get charged twenty-one cents.
You also get to set monthly spending limits. Let's say your keywords are set at twenty-five cents. You set a monthly spending limit of one-hundred dollars. That means you will get at least four-hundred clicks. Remember, you won't pay full price for all of them, so it will probably be more than four-hundred.
Once you meet your monthly spending limit your provider will stop circulating your ads. You are always in charge of how much you want to spend. |
