What is a refid?

It's a shortened version of reference i.d. or reference identifier. You use it to help you track your advertising.

Let me show you how...

The name of your website is http://www.your-website.com

You bought some ad space at http://www.ad-space.com and you want to know if anyone is clicking on that ad.

Here's what you would do...

Put a reference i.d. on the end of your URL like this...http://www.your-website.com/?refid=adspace

You can use the name of the advertiser as a reference i.d. or you can use a number or letter to identify them.

If you use a number or letter, be sure to keep good records. You will need to know which number or letter you assigned to which company.

Now you will be able to tell how many people are visiting your website because of a particular ad. Just log in to your admin page and click on statistics.

It is a good idea to use a reference i.d. for every ad you write. That way, you will be able to tell which ads are performing best.

Reference ID's save you money...

Track the data from your ads. Keep the ads that are performing the best. Dump or tweak the poor performers. This will help you make the most of your advertising dollars.
