What are RSS feeds?
This term stands for "really simple syndication" or "rich site summary". RSS feeds are used to deliver any changes in content from your favorite sites without the bother (or security risks) of email updates.

| | How does this translate into more sales for your business?
A blog rss feed can spike your visitor stats pretty quickly. Add a button to your website or
blog
(both is better). Acquire some
backlinks
. See the section on
article marketing
for one way to add backlinks if you don't have any.
Subscribe to your own blog on your MySpace, Facebook, or other social networks page. Ask your friends to do the same. It's also a good idea to list your site with at least two major search engine directories.
Encourage everyone who visits your site to subscribe via feed readers. Don't be pushy or forceful. You might say something like "If you like this site, subscribe! Then, every time we add new products, you'll be the first to know!". Use the invite to build a quality relationship with your visitors.
Add
content
to your blog on a regular basis. Every time you do, anyone who is subscribed to your feed is automatically updated about the new additions.
The same thing applies to your website. Update your product descriptions. Run monthly specials. Do anything that you can think of to add a little bit of new content to your site. |
Here's the payoff...
With every new content addition you are practically forcing your
subscribers
back to your site. FREE! Statistically, repeat visitors are more inclined to buy. A reader is an excellent way to attract those repeat visitors. Circulating your information this way helps to break down the trust issues a lot of people have when dealing with online companies.
