Social Networks...
You've probably heard a lot about social networks in the last few years. For a while, everywhere you went online, they were shouting to the rafters about how it was going to change the way people did business. So what, if anything, can sites like MySpace, Facebook, BlackPlanet, and LiveJournal, do for you?
Do you have a MySpace page parked somewhere getting dusty?
| | Most of us one or more profile pages. They're fun. They can also help you increase exposure and profits for your business!
Almost every social media site allows you to post FREE classified ads.
On MySpace you can post free classifieds as often as you like. There are hundreds of categories to choose from. This really lets you target your ads to the people who want to see them. You can also target individual cities. This is a great feature if you're advertising a local business. All these things add up to higher conversion rates for you. |
So Many Advertising Opportunities, So Little Time... Most sites have extensive blog networks. Sort through the categories. You should be able to find one in your niche. Participate! Position yourself as an expert in your field. By posting content that's relevant to that category, you'll develop a following. Remember, every post you make includes that all-important backlink to your site!
Other valuable tools include forums, question and answer communities, and video placements. At YouTube you can make and host your own video tutorials. Again, if you're a whiz kid in your particular field, people will visit your website just to get more of the good stuff.
Making Network Connections Work For You...
| | Tie in your other marketing efforts. Make references in your blog posts to articles you might have written. Make sure you link to the article.
Post a seperate ad for each web page, product, or service you have. It can be time consuming initially but don't let that discourage you. The benefits far outweigh the work.
Don't be greedy. Refer your prospects to interesting things you've read, or seen, that don't have anything at all to do with your business. It's important to build trust while you're trying to build your biz.
Pass around a link to something you're giving away at your website. Better yet, make that link your email signature. That way, when you get requests from new friends, they'll automatically get the link the first time you correspond with them.
There are so many ways you can use social networking to create multiple streams of visitors to your offers. I encourage you to investigate everything your network has to offer. Try to think of ways you can incorporate them into your marketing and advertising efforts.
One last note. Be sure to carefully read all TERMS AND CONDITIONS. They vary from site to site and it's not worth getting kicked off because you violated one of the rules. |
